Attractions : Toy Train Depot Miniature versions of Big Boys, steam engines and railroad dioramas are displayed at the Toy Train Depot Museum in Alamogordo. Train rides are also offered throughout the year for people of all ages. The museum is housed in the town's old train building circa 1898. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 4:30pm. Alamogordo Museum of History Founded in 1964, the Tularosa Basin Historical Society collects and preserves the history of Alamogordo, Otero County, and the Tularosa Basin. Through exhibits, the Museum tells the story of the people of the region, including Native Americans, ranchers, miners, railroad workers, merchants, physicians, and many more.
